Sci-Fi Character 08 (Renegade)

I’m often reluctant to use free assets, since in reality they are often a waste of time. But this is an excellent example of a free asset that’s really professional and ready to use in a game.

Demo scenes

The demo scene is, to no surprise, simple. It shows the prefabs that comes with the asset, and what’s nice to notice it that the model comes with a separate pair of arms for those who want to use it in a first person view.

The asset only includes materials for the built-in render pipeline but converting them to HDRP and URP within Unity3D didn’t cause any problems although the HDRP character looks a bit bright. Currently I haven’t looked in to solving that but I don’t imagine it to be any major hassle.

With no post processing or filters applied they look like this.

Real project

I’m going to use this character as the player in the simple TPS AlienHorde that I’m building.

Setting it up with Opsives Ultimate Third Person controller was no problem.

Conclusion

It’s a free no fuss model that includes 3 different skins and a matching sniper rifle. If the style fits just grab it here.
